| Sustainability in the dispersion of plant protection products is often a concern in relation to drift, but there is also point-source contamination, linked to the preparation, use, and washing phases of the equipment.
To address this issue, has been designed Agrobox, funded by Measure 16 of the Veneto Rural Development Programme (PSR Veneto), with the objective of developing a system capable of treating wastewaters contaminated by agrochemicals through high-efficiency membrane-based filtration technologies. The purified water can be reused, reducing waste and environmental impact.
The relevance of this issue is highlighted by a survey conducted in Veneto, which showed that the water requirements for washing sprayers vary enormously based on the crops and the number of treatments. Agrobox integrates solid separation, oil removal, and multiple filtrations, allowing for the creation of closed-loop washing systems that protect the water resource and offer farmers an efficient and sustainable solution.
