| The Agrobox project is an initiative that gathers research and agricultural enterprises to reduce the point-source pollution generated by the wash water from tractors and sprayers containing plant protection product residues.
The system, funded by Measure 16 of the PSR Veneto and developed by Mete srl with the coordination of Agridinamica and the scientific validation of the TESAF Department at the University of Padova, uses advanced filtration technologies to purify the waters. It recovers 90–95% of the water as reusable for future washing and new mixtures.
Considering that an average wine-growing company produces approximately 1,500 liters of wastewater annually and there are over 30,000 sprayers in Veneto, the potential environmental benefit is significant. The project, which started in 2019, is validated and ready to be sold. Article published on the 28th September 2020, in “Daily Verona”. |
